Terms and conditions

The rules for using Nivala and this website, in plain English.

Who we are and what these terms cover

Nivala, also called Kya Pakayein, is provided by Deeporax AI Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. By using the Nivala app or this website you agree to these terms.

Deeporax's general terms for the Deeporax Store are at store.deeporax.com/terms. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.

What you get

The Nivala app is licensed to you, not sold. The licence is personal and non-transferable, and it lasts as long as you follow these terms.

A decision aid, not an authority

Nivala suggests dinners and screens them against the dietary rules and allergens you enter. It is not a religious authority, a certifying body, a medical device or a dietitian.

It is built to fail closed: an ingredient it does not recognise is held back and marked uncertain, never assumed safe. Even so, ingredient data can be incomplete and settings can be entered wrongly. How Nivala decides explains the rules.

Before you eat

For a strict observance, an allergy or a medical condition, verify independently. Calorie and nutrition figures are estimates worked out from ingredients, not measurements.

Your account

You do not need one. If you want your household and meal history to survive a lost or replaced phone, add an email and confirm it with a six-digit code. Backup then switches on.

Keep access to that email, because it is how a restore is verified and we may not be able to recover a backup without it. One account holds one household. You can delete the account from Settings → Delete account at any time.

Your content

You own the dishes and photos you add. By adding a photo you let us store it, process it and show it back to you in the app. Do not upload anything unlawful, infringing or that is not your food.

Marking a dish as shared does nothing beyond your household today.

Ads

Nivala is free and supported by Google AdMob banner and interstitial ads. Google chooses and serves the ads. We do not review or endorse them, and an advertiser's site or app has its own terms. Do not generate ad impressions or clicks by automated means.

AI-written content

Recipes from a photo, translated steps and some ingredient pictures are made by an AI model. They are a good cook's guess, not a tested recipe or a dietary ruling. Nivala's own rule check is what decides whether a dish fits your household. Report anything wrong from the recipe itself.

Nivala's AI features take no open-ended prompts. The 18-or-over rule that applies to Deeporax's other AI tools does not apply to them.

Third-party services

Restaurant search, address lookup, weather, hosting, background removal, AI features, backup and ads rely on Google, Komoot, Open-Meteo, Cloudflare, xAI and Supabase. If one changes or goes down, the feature that depends on it may degrade, and that is not necessarily a fault of the app.

Availability and updates

Nivala is free today, and that may change with reasonable notice. The suggestion engine works offline. Anything that needs a connection may not.

Whether you install an update stays your choice. Old versions may stop being supported.

Acceptable use

Do not use Nivala for spam, for deception, or to scrape people's personal data. Do not resell or repackage it as your own.

Using this website

This website explains Nivala, lets you try the Tonight picker in your browser and lets you comment on a dish page. The recipes, halal rulings and calorie ranges on it are the same kind of decision aid as the app and carry the same limits.

Dish pictures on this site are AI-generated illustrations, not photos of the recipe. Calories are calculated from ingredients and have not been checked by a dietitian.

Comments and ratings on this website

A dish page lets you leave a comment and a star rating from 1 to 5. You give a name and an email address; the email is never shown. How we handle them is in the privacy policy.

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store it and show it on this website for as long as it stays up. That includes counting your rating in the average rating shown on the page and in search results. You are responsible for what you post.

Post only what you wrote yourself, about the dish or about cooking it. Do not post:

  • anything unlawful, defamatory, abusive or hateful
  • advertising, paid links, or the same text again and again
  • someone else's personal details, or a comment written as if you were someone else
  • a rating you did not give honestly, or ratings or comments posted by a script or in bulk

A comment appears as soon as you post it, except one with a link in it, which a person reads first. We may hold, refuse or remove any comment, with or without a reason. We do not edit what you wrote. Replies from us are marked Team.

Comments and ratings are the views of the people who wrote them. We do not check them, and they are not halal, allergy or medical advice. Do not rely on a comment for a dietary, allergy or health decision: the ruling on the page and your own check come first.

To have your own comment removed, or to report one you think is unlawful or breaches your rights, email cfaysal099@gmail.com with a link to the page and what is wrong. We will look into it and remove what should not be there.

Ending things

Uninstall any time. If you switched on backup, uninstalling does not delete it, so use Delete account first. Uploaded photos are not removed by account deletion: email us and we will remove them.

We may suspend access for accounts that breach these terms.

App store rules

Nivala is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Where a store's terms conflict with these terms for your copy of the app, the store's win for distribution and billing.

No warranty

Nivala and this website are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind.

Limit of liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for Nivala is capped at what you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We will post updates here and note the date at the top.
